#15 - Serta Sheep
The lord of sleep in the Tomb. He watches from on high, staring into the dreams and nightmares of those below.
(Obtained from a departed family friend.)
#14 - Eggman
“Ohohoho! Soon, I will conquer this Tomb, and make it into my new Eggmanland! It will be glorious!”
(I found this at a tag sale many years ago; it’s a UFO Catcher from Japan. How it got into a random local tag sale in Connecticut is the real mystery here.)
#13 - Jack Skellington
Boys and girls of every age, would you like to see something strange? Come with us and shake a leg; this, a skeleton shaped like an egg.
(Bought at Walt Disney World in August 2008)
#12 - Pikachu Clock
Out of the shadows, another Pikachu appears! This Pikachu is an oddity; while much closer to an actual Pikachu than the balloon…thing, it still looks kind of off. Possibly another bootleg?
(I’ve had this for AGES. For the longest time, this was my bedroom clock, but it doesn’t seem to work anymore. I assume this is a bootleg because I can’t find any copyright info on it, and when the alarm did work, it would play the Japanese theme song.)
#011 - Pikachu?
Many Pokemon are free-roaming within the tomb. Pokemon of various shapes, sizes, and ages. Pokemon ranging from a Dratini bought at a KFC in 1998, to a Diamond/Pearl era Wobbafett.
Then there’s this thing. I…think it’s a Pikachu. It also looks like a bunny. A bizarre, disturbed, bunny.
(I don’t even remember where I bought this. I want to say it was at the Big E over 10 years ago, but it could’ve been from some random balloon vendor at any number of places. I’m pretty sure I bought it for the novelty of having a Pikachu that looks almost nothing like a Pikachu.)
#010 - Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
As we delve deeper into the confines of the Tomb, spirits of a long-forgotten past begin to appear. A silent past. The spirit of the forgotten king.
(Oswald was my final purchase at the Disney Store in the local mall right before they all closed. Yeah, surprisingly they actually made new Oswald merchandise a few years before Epic Mickey. I really miss the Disney Store, it was always a fun place to look for Disney stuff you couldn’t find anywhere except the parks.)
#009 - 002
This is a pretty cool figurine I got a while back. It’s 002 from the classic manga series Cyborg 009.
I think this toy is actually from the newest series that ran on Toonami years ago.
#007 - Kamen Rider Amazon
Some of these toys, I don’t have much to say about, but in an effort to break away from a monotonous cycle of “Here’s a toy, it might be possessed, ooooo~”, I’m going to talk about this one.
Amazon is the sixth Kamen Rider, from the shortest series of his franchise. I’ve seen a few Kamen Rider series, and while I still haven’t seen his series, he just has a really cool design. He looks like if a Sleestak from Land of the Lost became a scarf-wearing superhero (the original Land of the Lost did come out around the same time as Amazon, but I doubt either was aware of the other). Combined with the fact that he’s easily the derpiest Kamen Rider, I just couldn’t help loving his look.
This toy comes from a line called S.H. Figuarts, which are basically collectors figures that are extra poseable, have at least half a dozen different hands, and come with accessories. The main group of figures in this line are Kamen Riders, but they’ve done other figures for stuff like Super Sentai, Pretty Cure, and several Shonen Jump series. I have one other Figuart (which threw me into a brief frenzy of “OH MY GOD, I MUST GET MORE”, which WILL happen if you get one; you will want another), and this is my second.
Unfortunately, his right hand-joint is finicky as hell, and only seems to want to work with his open-claw hand (which some deem as “molester hands”), which means I can’t do his awesome “SUPER GREAT SLASH” finisher properly. Still, he’s a pretty awesome figure.
“AAAAAAMAAAAAAZOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNN!!!!!!!!”
